It’s been three years since Exorcist Lavender stopped communicating with God. Those three years have been an ongoing crisis of faith, one that Lavender has been fruitlessly dissecting with the help of the others in the abbey.

And then the Mother hires a painter for the church ceiling.

Axel Fernandez is self-assured, punk, strangely stoic—and, it turns out, possessed by a demon. It’s more powerful, more aggressive, and more connected to Axel than any Lavender has ever seen.
